The Source of Life

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples." ~John 15:1-8 (NKJV)
Reflection:
Have you ever been in a situation that acquired the assistance of your cellular device? Only to find out that your phone is on 2% battery life and about to die. In the world we live in today, we rely very heavily on technology. In fact, I am willing to predict that most of you are reading this blog on a computer, tablet or smart phone. Technology is a beautiful thing. But no matter how great we as a human race progress in our technological advancements, We still have to be mindful that every bit of it has a source that is vitally important to its continual existence.
Reading and meditating on this passage in John, should always bring us back to the focal point of our lives as believers. That is, without Jesus we can do nothing and without Jesus our righteousness is as filthy rags and our work is in vain. Beloved, It is impossible for us to be the person that God has called us to be without the help of Jesus Christ. Therefore, my prayer for you today is that you will consistently and relentlessly develop and ever be in pursuit of growing your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
